What's in season for Winter (June/July/August)

Fruit

apples (bonza ,braeburn, cox's orange pippins, fuji, gala, golden delicious, granny smith, jonagold, jonathan, lady williams, mutso, pink lady, red delicious, snow, sundowner, cumquat, custard apple), grapefruit, kiwifruit, lemons, limes, mandarin (ellendale, imperial) melons (champagne), nashi, nuts (chestnut, hazelnut, walnut), oranges (navel), papaya, pears (beurre bosc, Josephine, packham), persimmon, pineapple, pomelo, quince, rhubarb, tangelo.

Vegetables

Asian greens (bok choy, choy sum, gai laan, wonga bok), avocados (fuerte, sharwill), beetroot, broccoli, brussels sprout, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celeriac, celery, fennel, garlic, ginger, horseradish, Jerusalem artichokes, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, okra, olives, onions, parsnip, peas, potato, pumpkin, shallot, silverbeet, spinach, swede, sweet potato, turnip, witlof.

  2. These vegetables are "in season" for NSW, Australia .

    In general warm to hot seasons will produce: tomatoes, bell peppers / capsicums, potatoes, sweet potatoes / yams, cucumbers, eggplants, zucchini / courgettes, artichokes, beans, pumpkins and other curcubits, onions, shallots, garlic, fennel, okra, celery, lettuce and corn / maize varieties. Asian greens such as bok choy, choy sum, kai lan etc. Most herbs.

    Citrus fruits, stone fruits, such as peaches, plums, mangoes & avocado (depending on climate). Seed fruits, such as apples, pears, grapes, quinces & pomegranates. Berry fruits, such as blueberries, blackberries etc. Other fruits, such as banana, melons, lychees & figs.

    Cold to cool seasons will produce: beans, peas, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, carrots, baby onions, baby potatoes, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, fennel, celery, kale, silverbeet / chard, spinach, other root vegetables such as beetroot, turnip, swede / rutabaga & potatoes (etc).

    Most berry fruits (when there is no chance of frost), avocado in wet and cool (no-freeze) winters for Mediterranean climates as well as other fruits such as citrus, early stone fruits such as nectarines, providing the frost is over.
